Default RE: Foot Pounds of Energy Question

Thank's Mike, that's what I have heard also about the 10mm 200gr XTP. As we can use that bullet here in N.Y. I think it will be a fine one. The wife will do a little practice with some Chucks this Summer, she's pumped up! Oh, this is for the rest of the comments, I also believe (Shot-Placement) is No1 over anything else. I have taught my Wife (as she is also a Bowhunter) to aim for the middle of the lungs. A lung shot is much better than a heart shot. If too low on a heart shot you more than likely are in trouble. A middle lung shot has a margian for error, and a much bigger target. She is an experienced Archer and has also shot in the I.B.O. Triple Crown. We both believe in a quick Clean Harvest and nothing else, I just wanted some input from you guy's to see what's the smallest powder load used by most of you that works. As stated FPE does'nt mean much as long as the shot is where it's suppos to be. We both learned that long ago shooting Bow's, a arrow travaling 240fps will kill a Deer just as good as one going 320fps. I just wanted to lessen the recoil for her. Thank's for all the comments, they were well received. BP
