Not a clue about others like this. But I don't think the Taurus is poorly made. Their quality has come a long way from the junk they used to put out. This left a bad taste in some people's mouths to this day. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of these Judges. The older models were for the 2 1/2" 410 shells. Now they are making them for the 2 1/2" and the 3" .410 shells. The 3" are slightly more $ but probably a better option. Its harder to find 2 1/2" shells than 3" ones. But with the 3" you can shoot either.
