This is a common question. If scroll down, you'll see many topics dealing with this. In general, I usually suggest going used for the first one. Basically, you will not know exactly what you want for a little while.A used Bear is a great choice. You can usually pick one up a 60" for around $150. Most of them were made about 45#'s at 28", which is perfect for a beginner.
