Follow up on this deer. Scot Brun's Westmoreland County non-typical 22-point monster scored 201 2/8 B&C points. Story in Pa game & fish.

Go figure,It was shot with an Xbow also. LMAO
That guy in the pic looks pretty young and healthy...let me guess, his shoulder bothers him? Not like it matters anyway, with the new regs. As for if the AR's are working, some of you guys try to pretend that no one ever killed a big deer before AR's. A look at the PA record books shows that a large percentage of top end bucks were taken during the decades when herd were at historic high levels. yes, we have recently taken a couple new records, but whose to say we wouldn't have without AR's? No one can dispute that we are killing more 2.5 and 3.5 buck than before, but that is the tangible result of AR's increasing age structure within the harvest. Bucks like the one in the photo are rare freaks of nature even in the very best habitat in the country. Rest assured that AR's did not directly produce that deer. In the face of alot of research that supports the prospect of AR's producing high grading effects, we may be closing the door to more top end specimens like him in the future. And the odds of that deer sporting forkies as a yearling are very low. A close friend has been raising large, captive deer for years, and his largest bucks...who incidentally scored very close to that monster non typical, always sported exceptional antlers (110"+) as yearlings, and began demostrating their non typical characteristics by age 2.5. (According to some of you PGC supporters, he should have immediately killed those bucks as yearlings and left his smallest bucks do the breeding.) But keep on praising our inferior AR system, even though there are so many better options out there that would increase age structure more effectively, and likely produce larger bucks within age classes.
