The 22 Hornet is one of the most finicky cartridges there is to reload. You did pick a tough one to start with. But you should still be able to do it very well with a little practice, and some suggestions.

Been reloading the .22 Hornet and K-Hornet for 50 years. Most US Hornets made in the past 30 or so years have very sloppy chambers. European made Hornets do not have this problem.
