I've replaced my wooden stock on an 870 express 12 gauge. The 870 is a simple gun to take apart. Check out your manual. I'm sure there is one online if you don't have the original manual. The only thing I can see you might need would be a screw for thestock if one doesn't come with the shurshot. My buddy is replacing his stock on his 870 12 gauge w/ the shurshot and hasn't got it yet b/c it's on backorder where he ordered it. Good luck and hope this helped.
