I use epoxy spray paint you get at the hardware store it puts a finish on it like your stove top(this will keep the gun from rusting under the paint). Then I use a green scratch pad to dull the finish and then you can use the cheeper flat type paints for a great look.I use this on all of my shotguns and muzzleloadersguns.
