I agree with Wingbone...Winter roost areas are determined by food availability and roosting cover, such as large dense evergreens...

Spring roost areas will be relative to nesting areas...There still MAY be birds roosting close to your stand in spring if there is prime nesting habitat nearby, but there's no guarantee..
