Back to the job

Went home last night and finished the tillering. Fixed the up side down limbs and softened the upper limb till I had a 1/8" (+) tiller. Then put her on the tree, after bracing at 6", and pulled her to 45lbs. Got to 18".

I know this willdrive Mark crazy, but things look real good. Midlimbs a tad to heavy. And I know it looks like the fades are bending way too much, but that is how a bow looks with a bit of deflex in them. Most of that bend you see was glued in during the glue up. Deflex can throw you off if you are not use to seeing it when you tiller.

Here we are 55lbs at 23"

Just a touch too stiff at the first of the midlimb on the right limb. Ill work on that a touch.

Got her smoothed out at 23" and move on to 27"

Not bad. Just need to hit the left limb a bit to soften that fist part of the midlimb agian.

Got her finished, but the pic did not turn out. Man, this bow was a piece of cake to tiller. Took me just about an hour to get the job done. Did it all with 45 grit sand paper. It dont get much easier than that. Ill take another pic. of the final tiller tonight if I get a chance to work on it agian.

Got the bow all tillered and cut a rough shelf and roughly shaped the handle so I could start shooting her in. Shot her about 60 times and this bow has got some good snap to it. I really like the way this bow shoots. Weight right now is 66lbs at 28". I hope to keep at least 65lbs at 29" once the final sanding is done.

Here is the roughed out handle. Tonight I get to finish all the pretty work.
