I carry mine by the string also, and just switch hands if one gets tired. But if I ever make it out west, for long hikes across the country side. I might consider one of the back paks that you can strap your bow into on your back for hiking to destinations or glassing spots to hunt. But I' ve never been outwest, so that might not be such a good idea either!
