RE: New Bow or Not?
Well if you put it that way......You're looking in the wrong direction.
The 2 fastest short ATA bows are both made by BowTech.....Both have IBO speeds around 320(The Tech29 will do near 320 with a 29" draw length)
The "Tech29" is a 29.5" speed demon that has very little recoil and is very quiet.
It is only available to a 29" draw length and has a 6.5" brace height.
The "Mighty Mite" is 31.75" ATA and 7.25" brace height......and is super fast, has a little recoil and is almost as quiet as the "Tech29".....a decent stabilizer and some Limbsavers smooth both right out.
They have a little bit more recoil and noise than the others mentioned (Hoyt,Mathews)with the same arrow weights....but they are considerably faster.
The neat thing is that you can shoot either of these bows either at much lower poundages to get the same speed as the ones you mentioned (SQ2, HAvocTec).....OR you can shoot HEAVIER arrows as fast as the others shoot a lighter arrow and it will be hitting much harder.....and now they sound and feel similar with respect to recoil and vibration.
Either way it's a win/win.
Check out "JeffB"'s Report on the Mighty Mite in the"Technical Forum".....under the title "Oh My God....Another Bow Report Already!!!"
This should give you a pretty good idea how the BowTechs stack up against the competition.
By the way......I think you'll find any of the bows I've mentioned and the Hoyt and Mathews MUCH more fun and forgiving to shoot than the Baby-G.
IMO the "Baby-G" is obsolete......there are a ton of bows on the market right now that will do what the Baby-G can do, only MUCH quieter, faster, and with a lot less recoil and with SIGNIFICANTLY higher brace heights making them easier to shoot.
I had a Baby-G and compared to my Mighty Mite, it was about as much fun as a train wreck. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
