Back again. Got home from church and uwrapped the bow and cleaned it up. Its all looking good.
and here you can see how the belly lams run up the riser piece.
Im going to glue on a piece of ipe to finish out my belly lams and a block of osage to add to the gip area. Ill shape it tomorrow. Ill hand sand the handle smooth and even and use the belt sander to shape the block of Osage to fit the bow.
Now its all shaped, ill glue them on.
While that dries, ill sand down the tips so I can put on the overlays.
Im going to use ipe, osage, and antler for my overlays. I start by ripping some small pieces of ipe and osage and sand them thin and flat with the belt sander.
Now for the waiting game again. Tomorrow ill shape the tips a bit, cut the riser flat so I can start tillering.
