When i talked to Shaun @ Western/Montana X-treme he told me that the top coat of a quality oil would not alter the effects of the conditioner in the bore as long as the conditioner went into the bore when it was clean and free of regular oil. So pulling the top coat of oil out with a dry patch and even a alcohol patch will not get to the conditioner.

I think Dave and I both are way early into the learning curve for the use of the Conditioner and what it will do or might do forthe bore.

Again Shaun emphasized the importance of a clean bore before application.
