RE: Heat tolerant crop?
I hunt in E.Tx also, I've had very good success with Iron/Clay Cowpeas. They are tolerant to drought/heat. Best of all, the deer love them,they are high in protein, and with good conditions are very lush, and continue to grow after grazing.
