I have an opening for a hunter or two on over 1000 acres of prime whitetail habitat. This land is managed for big bucks. My quality deer management practices are very strict. They include no bucks under 4.5 years old being harvested, shooting a lot of does, sanctuaries on the farms where no one is allowed to go, food plots, and timber stand improvement. I treat this like a hunt club with rules and regulations.
This spot is not just for anyone. I am looking for a good ethical hunter that believes in giving the bucks some age before harvesting. Someone that is wanting to be in it for the long run and able to see the big picture when letting some of these deer walk. Someone that hunts hard but yet hunts smart. That means only going into certain areas at certain times, hunting the wind no matter what, etc...
This spot is available for residents and non-residents alike. Non-residents do need to understand that I am looking for someone that wants to be part of this for the long run. This means buying in each year whether you draw or not. Doe tags are available over the counter for the gun season on years you don't draw.
The only reason for this opening is a couple of my friends moved away and no longer hunt here anymore.
After emailing some information and getting to know someone interested I would like to have a few phone conversations or meet in person if possible before anything is finalized. When finalized lease payments are due by May 1st.
If there is enough interest I may be able to add a couple additional members and pick up more ground. I have another 1500 acres that I can get but don't want to committ to too much ground with an economy like this.
For NR that would be interested I may be able to work something out with you for a semi-guided hunt on this ground.
Ground is located in Eastern Iowa.
