RE: Decided on a .270...now what make?
any quality built rifle (winchester,browning,remington,ruger, weatherby) will be closein craftmanship and accuracy..if you don't mind a single shot, the t/c would be a great choice because of the interchangeable barrels...optics should be your major concern in a $1000 rifle....stay in the high end of leupold, burris, or swarovski...the saying is "the scope should cost as much as the rifle"..
