First off you have to get that bore butter out of that rifle. I would take the barrel off and set that rifle outside and pour boiling water through it until you melt all that wax and it is rinsed out of the bore. Then IMO never allow that stuff near your rifle again.
After you have the bore butter out, you need to take a strong solvent and a brush and scrub that bore spotless. Then some solvent patches as well. I use Hoppies #9. After I got that bore spotless clean, I dry patch it.
Then apply some of the Montana X-treme Bore Conditioner on a patch and swab that bore good and then let it sit.
When you are ready to shoot.. take a dry patch with nothing on it, and swab the bore then go shoot.
I am new to all of this too. I am not sure how you are supposed to use the Bore Oil, etc.. and Montana X-treme has never answered my questions on how to use their products.
