Default RE: hows deer hunting going for every one?

tell the story about your guys hunts!
We were up for a work party weekend on the weekend of October 25th. It was raining cats and dogs. However, the weekend before I saw a lot of bucks and saw some rutting activity. I decided that, if we finished work early, I was going to put on rain gear and tough it out for a while.

Nothing was moving so I decided to sneak around with the rain to quiet my steps. I sneak up to the edge of a hayfield and see a bunch of does being followed by a really nice buck. I try calling and he seems interested. Then, one of the does busts me. They all take off snorting. The buck doesn't know anything is up, but decides to follow the doe anyway.

I decide to head in. As there is abot 20 minutes left of legal quitting time, I decide to try one more rattling sequence before quitting. With in a minute of putting down the antlers, I see a deer coming. It has a big body so I grab the bow and get ready. I see a high rack so I draw. I'm on the ground so he sees me. He stops and looks at me. Then I see the 23" wide rack. I place the pin on his chest and fire.

I'm sure I hit him, but the light is poor and the woods is like a lake. We can't find any blood. We go back and watch the Phillies win another game in the world series and then head out 7:00am the next morning. I bring my little mutt dog who is great at recovering deer. After having no luck searching much further than we should have,we head back towards the truck. On the way in, I can't get my dog to come to me. Yep, he's standing by the buck. It only went about 100 yards.

The end result was this:
