Perhaps you misunderstand how the Ruger P series pistol safetys actually work. The safety version will STILL safely decock the pistol, but can be left on safety, whereas the decocker only has NO manual safety, and is merely decock ONLY. The decocker lever will NOT stay in decock position but the safety will remain on safety until taken off safety. Anyway, I consider the safety/decocker better than decocker only but that is just MY preference.

I would recommend the P95 with decock onlyand not a manualsafety if you go with a P95.
I understand very well how the safety works on the RugerP95. You canNOT carry it cocked at locked. If you havea model with the safety, you musttake the safety off after you decock thefirearm. I don't like thisfor a gun that could beused for self defense. If the P95it is in double action mode (hammer down) you have a long, hard trigger pull to fire. This is a safety in itself. However, the best safety is keeping your finger off the trigger until you are on target and ready to shoot.
