Don't take it to heart....his post is only about half accurate anyway. Ask any question you'd like and no doubt you'll occasionally get someone who believes they have done it all and know it all. I can assure they have not.

You may want to ask him how the soft point bullets lack the power.....power is based on speed and weight. A 50 gr. Vmax at 4000 fps has the exact same power as a 50 gr. sp at 4000 fps. We use Vmaxs and Ballistic tips exclusively and as long as the shooter can shoot we don't have any problem. We get some very long shots on the prairie that really test bullets and shooters.

Also not everyone lives in IN and I can also assure you there are places in the US where a 1/2 mile is an all day event.

I would caution you against using FMJ bullets. They tend to ricochet badly.
