The .243made the 250 Savage and the .257 Roberts obsolete...

Look at the ammo avaliable in stores...You'll see plenty of .243, .308, .270, 30-06, 30-30 and .223 ammo...

A few years back, I took a fellow hunting that used a .260 Remington...He fell on his scope and had to resight in his rifle, no big deal...Except, the dang fool had only brought a half a box of ammo with him...
We drove 45 miles one way and lost a morning hunt during the rut trying to get his gun ready to hunt with again...

If he had been shooting any of the above ammo, it would have been avaliable at the local service starion that is just down the road from one of our farms...
