this is one thing that has always concerned me shooting into groups of deer. Luckily it sounds like they were lined up to hit the vitals on both! Not a great situation to encounter but I'm very happy it came out well for you (that little one will be nice and tender).
Yea. I was concerned because they were grouped up . I was worried that i might wound one with a bad shot. i didn't even see a little one behind and I didn't expect a pass through at that distance so the thought of hitting one on the other side of her didn't occur. The main thought I had was that if i didn't take a shot I might not get another opportunity seeing that we had followed them for awhile and they were getting spooky. I still think it was an ethical shot in spite of her being in a group., as I was sighted in on her only and she offered a good broadside shot. i am sure some will think otherwise, but i felt it was a good decision at the time and I have no regrets9 especially with all the meat for the freezer
