Because they stay in contact longer,which is more forgiving.
The absolute worst thing a rest can do is drop too early.The Whammy stays up longer than any other and the Limb Driver comes in a close second.
Add to that that the Whammy is a "soft" rest makes it even more forgiving.
Hmm, have to seriously disagree with you there. You think a old TM hunter is more forgiving? Especially to hand torque? As long as an arrow release is consistent, it techcially wouldn't make a difference. I know Limb driver advertises this great advantage of staying on longer, but that would mean the only benefit to a drop away is fletch clearance. Then we would be back to all of us using bodoodles again. Man, I miss that rest.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a know it all, and you might be right. But the huge selling point to drop aways was when an arrow is released and still on the string, it would flex and not contacting the rest was a good thing.
