I was in the same spot a few years ago---I wanted something different to hunt sheep & mtn goats with other my 30/06. Same as you I don' t want or can afford a different gun for every hunt I' m drawn for. What I did was use the 30/06 & buy a good pair of binoculars. FYI--my sheep I shot at 160 yards, the mtn goat at at 75 yards. I suggest you do the same your 7 Mag is as good as anything. Beware of the man with 1 rifle----He probably can shoot it !!
