Let me explain something to you. I'm perfectly secure with my "manliness" as a "MALE NURSE," and I don't think that has anything to do with you sending "Hail Mary's" at 100yds. Now if you get into understanding better what a bow really does, maybe you'll see how ridiculous alot of what you've posted sounds. First and foremost, thing you should understand it that guys who REALLY shoot the type of distances you're talking about, usually are using sights a little different that the Wal-Mart special. Don't get me wrong, I've used them, set bows up with them, and they are sufficient for a hunting sight. But that .039pin size at 100yds is gonna cover far more than a coke can, and at the speeds you'd be shooting, you're gonna have some issues getting anything past about 60yds inside your pin housing unless you've really got nockpoint or your peep set up in some extraordinary manner. A bow set up correctly, giving you the MOST benefit of doubt, will still loose over 6ft in trajectory between 55 and 100yds. Now let be serious here, if you're set up with that bow at its TOP efficiency per the IBO rating, which is highly unlikely as 90% of bows that are produced aren't within 2-3fps of their "IBO RATING" NEW, but if you set that bow up, to shoot at 50yds. You'd still have to hold your 50yd pin 12ft above the 100yd target. Inversely, if you set the bow up to shoot 100yds, you'd have to hold 6feet below a target at 50yds with that 100yd pin to hit near the 50yd bullseye!!!!! Now take a look at your sight, digest what I've just typed, and go back and re-read the part about credibility!!!! By the way, just FYI, I'm by no mean a little guy, an Army Veteran, and certainly not a guy you'd want to talk smack to in person. Not to worry, that's not a threat, by any means as I don't throw down anymore either, I learned through the years that a gentle joint lock and offering a person the opportunity to move and blow a joint vs. cooperate is a much safer way to deal with altercations, rather breaking them up, or preventing them.
OK now we have the edge off, let me be serious here.
Doug I see what your saying but the fact of the matter is my bow is can shoot 100yd. I'm not going to argue the fact, it is like me telling you where your pin should be, if it's there it's there.
I shoot 100yd with my 20$ wal-mart sight so think what you want but it is truth. I walk out the door go to my 100yd spot draw back, put my bottom pin on the coke can and shoot. If you have never even tried it then I truly don't know why you keep on insisting that it is not possible with a bow. I would love to have you shoot my bow, it seems that is the only way you would understand. this is ridiculousness to me, just as you feel fine with your manliness I'm fine with the fact that people do not believe.
My information is correct I used my own chronograph and got the weight straight off the scale and double checked with the company's gr per inch. as for my pin I see the coke can and the pin hides it perfect, I know when the can is visible I will miss I don't see why you don't believe this. I do feel bad about my comment now I know you served for our country but your opening statement to me was off base that is indisputable, so for that I will apologize.
as for this whole discussion, I don't know what else to say. I can shoot 100yd, I have been doing archery for 4 years now every year I push my distance. yes my first day of shooting I could not even hit the block but after a couple days I was able to get the glitches out, which was my intention.
So coming from a citizen who respects those who served and protected our country I tell the truth to you. My bow, sight and I shoot 100yd 4 days a week, I don't know what to tell you, think what you wish but it is truth. as I said before I will answer any questions you like, the only thing I have to loose is a non believer
I do suggest you shoot 100dyd and just get over this misconception you have about this "impossible" distance. you are talking about something you have never tried ??? try it and see if you like it
