After shooting .223 and .308 for most of my adult life, I found that I missed having the .30-06 around now that hunting animals is all I do with a rifle. It took selling my 760 to learn that, but I have a new bolt-action in .30-06 to play with now. I'll use it for hunting clear-cuts and right-of-ways. For the thick stuff I'm still sticking with the .45-70.
