My son, Nick was playing tackle football and he tackled some big guy and the guy landed onNick's left side and ruptured my son's spleen. He is in intensive care and they are going to give his spleen a chance to heal. If it won't heal they will remove it. The next three days will tell what happens.
UPDATE: Nick is doing much better today. He is in less pain and he got his video games hooked up to the hospital TV. The doctor said his blood work shows that he isn't bleeding internally anymore and that is a good sign that he may not need surgery. I feel so much better now. Not much sleep last night!
I am overwelmed by the response from all of you! Thanks for all the kind words and prayers!

Update 2: Nick is healing great. no surgery necessary! He is walking around and will probably go home on Monday. Doc says 3 months without contact sports. He can't wait to play football again. He is looking forward to getting back to school, he has a 4.0 GPA and doesn't want to let his grades drop. Thank you all so very much for the kind words and prayers. That means more to me then I can express with words.
