Had a very good day today. We weren't all that eager to start the day early with the windchill at 3 degrees so we went out at 10. Just two of us doing small one man drives. The first drive didnt even start when three bucks came in and bedded about 80 yards out from me. When my buddy put out 6 does, they came right past the bucks and the 8 pointer immediately started doggingone of the doeslike she was in estrous. They made several circles while the rest of the deer and I watched. She finally led him right past me but he was just a little guy and I decided to let him grow up. She never gave me a shot but the other doe with her did. The muzzy did her in in 30 yards.

Abigger buck(also legal but still too small)and two more doe stayed around awhile but eventually took off in another direction.

Now it was my buddy's turn.As soon as I stepped into the brush on his drive Ihad three up that passed just out of his comfort zone for a good shot. I put up 4 more but they stayed just out of range too. This was a new spot for us and we're still learning how the deerbehave this time of year but we think we've got it figured out for next time.

Wealso saw another dozen or so from the vehicle between drives and were home before 4PM

Total deer seen in6hours 29. 26 does and three bucks. Two of the bucks were AR legal.
