Whats the advantage of the compound?

A compound crossbow has a couple of advantages. Higher speeds, more power. Which means flater arrow flight, less vertical error in a hunting shot. Also the compound design means less pressure on the latch, means a lighter trigger is "possible". Both systems have advantages and disadvantages. "The cams is not an avantage"

A good traditional crossbow, as an Excalibur, could be more effective than a compound: more "precise", light weight, durable, easy to change the string/serving.
