RE: Bear hunting the hard way.
There is a bear that was shotNovember 23rd, 1963 back in the national forest that field dressed went 665 pounds. It took eight full grown men to get him out of the woods in one piece.Now the hide is all worn out and its in ruff shape. And in the Park Falls Wisconsin DNR office there is a 531 pound (I believe it is) dressed bear that they guess would have went over 700 pounds (has it been shot in the fall instead of hit by a car in the spring), full body mounted on display. It is really something to see.
Wisconsin used to be one of the prime large bear hunting spots in the United States. The DNR has got them so shot off now that the huge ones are back in the National most the time.
