I also think you are reaching just a bit in you getting attacked because of the poor action.
You misread my post.I never posted that I was attacked because of a poor action.I was charged by a grizzly before any shots were fired,and all went well because I was able to quickly cycle the action to fire the second shot which stopped the bear,after the first shot only slowed it down.
Now if I had been carrying a 770 with the action that Wiggy described,I likely would not have gotten off the second shot in time to stop the grizzly from reaching me.
