Default RE: Ladder Stands

been using Ladder stands sinceI don't know when. When I can't get them close to whereI want with my JeepI have a 2 wheel deer hauler I strap them to.I have ladders 8' to 15'& they all work great-lower you just have to move a little slower. I've killed 2 Whitetails in Iowa this year at 10 feet up (1 at 25 yds 7 one at 5 yds) & 2 Hogs in Oklahoma at 15' (1 at 10 yds & 1 at under 10 yds.).I have taken several Whitetails at 10& 12 feet.I don't worry about the platform-I always shoot sitting down. i have a couple double stands & they are great-you can lay all your gear next to you orI have one of my kids go with so they can enjoy the hunt also.
Idon't brush them in & I have no problems with ANY deer walking close.I filmed a small buck walk 10 feet past me (10 feet up) to another small Buck 15 yds. from me & filmed them fight. Wind was pretty stedy from me to them-If it's not swirling, I have little winding problems.I have hang ons& findI don't put them more than 12 feet anyway.
