HISTORY REPEATS. About 12 years ago Remington was selling the 522 Viper it was .22 lr , it was a semi/ clip fed plastic stock rifle. That yes because of brand name reputation I did purchase one. What a piece of junk!!!! When Remington put the 597 on the market you think they would have taken the (522) into cosideration and tried winning some cutomers back by taking what is a product with the lowest cost and highest sales .22, lr in general and designed a good rifle it would appear this it not the case. The company' s need to profit was placed before the need' s of the customer. Thus the story of the bean counter and big buisness.
