You're entitled to your opinion, but for me its not about "being cool". Having a good time, yes. Beer certainly helps the process of having a good time, and kicking back and relaxing with your buddies. To behonest, I don't give a damn what people think of me, so peer pressure or the need to be "cool" has never bothered me. Thats why I've never tried any kind of drug, and don't plan to. I don't care who it is, if they're using some kind of drug I leave.
