RE: Bill Jordan, what do you think of him?
Three years ago at the August Nascar race in Michigan ( we have gone every year since I was in 8th grade and I am 38 now) I was walking through the merchandise trailer area and looked over at the realtree trailer and was looking at the real nice buck mounts that they had at each end, and all of a sudden I realized Bill was standing there. I walked up and we started talking hunting. He stood there and talked to me for about 35 minutes. We were swapping stories and he was genuinely interested in hearing about some of my successful hunts here in Ohio. He would stop me and ask me for more detail as I told the story, so I knew he was really listening and interested. Man he was the most down to earth and nicest guys I have ever talked to. I told him that my buddies would never believe that I swapped hunting stories with him, and he said well here you can prove it to them, and he whipped out a really nice picture of him and personalized it and signed it. He wrote " To my new pal Brett, thanks for some great conversation. Good luck in all your hunts. Your new friend, Bill jordan. We talked a few more minutes and then another guy with a walkie talkie told him they needed him down at Buckshot' s trailer ( Buckshot jones was driving the Realtree car that part of the season). He shook my hand and thanked me for some great stories, and then he reached over and grabbed a Monster Bucks T- shirt, signed it and told me that was for taking my time to share my hunts with him. I couldn' t believe it. When he left my wife said that is one of the coolest things that I have ever seen a guy in his position do. I liked him before that, but he made a fan for life here. He didn' t have to be that gracious at all. Great guy.
