Default RE: Neighbor's dog shot

Phil From Maine, no I haven't shot a dog yet. But when is enough going to be enough. My nieghbors dog has chewed on 2 ofMY deer, sh$ts inMY yard, barks at us inMY year, constantly running in MY woods, and has followed me into the treestand in the mornings and barked at me for quite awhile. Funny thing is, I had a nice talk with them after the first deer (which the dog was eating a hind quarter before I even found it, in the middle of MY woods) and they didn't listen. Finally when the 2nd deer was chewed on hanging in MY barn I had to have another talk with them. This was not so nice, and I told them "I pay money to hunt, money for land to hunt not so thier dog can have free riegn. If I ever catch your dog in the woods I will shoot it". That message got through to them. Isn't it sad some dog owners don't feel they have to respect your property, that dog still does everything he did before in MY yard but they keep him locked up during deer deason. And I will say it again, it is 100% not the dogs fault in any case.

So, you tell me. when is enough, enough
First thing I would of done is have a warden come over and inspect my deer that this dog ate the hind quarters from. Then once this happens I doubt you would of had much problem from that dog being loose all the time. But, your state or town's law on dogs maybe different. As I have stated here it is very aggressive when it comes to this type of stuff. Have you ever went to your town meetings and complained about this issue? While alot of the blame is on the owner/s what have you done besides dicuss this issue with the owner? But also because of this one dog does it give you the right to just shoot any dog you see? I know,I wouldn't be putting up with this issue for very long as well. There is alot of hunter with dogs that do respect others rights as well. Because of a few does it mean all dog hunters are that way?
I knowI do not take them on private property with one exception and that is land I am taking care of for my grandpaprents. They loved to watch him work in the field out back. That was until they had to go in the nursing home last spring.

As Mentioned by B.C. this is not the issues we are dealing with most on here..
