I don't think it was the whole state, but a large section of Georgia(areas along the FlintRiver in Sumter and Dooly counties and a couple others, mayb Schley etc) had a restocking program back in the 50s I believe. In fact, today some of Georgias larger deer still come from these areas. They restocked with the big deer from Mich and Wisconsin I believe. When they first opened the season there some awfully big bucks were killed.
