Default RE: Good and Bad genetics

I see lots of spikes and 3 pts from my stands. If I started shooting every "inferior" buck that walks by, I'd be tagged out by Columbus Day. Are you guys targeting these bucks or just taking them as the chance arises? I've noticed that if I'm seeing a large amount of runt deer (bucks) I'm usually hunting the wrong areas of the property. I killed a buck in 2006 that everyone told me had "bad genes", despite the fact that his front left hoove was shattered and nearly twice its normal size.

Bad genes? I don't think so.
