RE: Another Remington Junk Report
I grew up duck and dove hunting with an 870. It was a nice shotgun, but I sold it many years ago. My last Remington purchase was a 700 chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. It never was a very good shooter until I pillar bedded the action and replaced the trigger. I have had problems with it not wanting to extract fired cases. Overall, I' ve been less than pleased with it, but I' ll probably keep it as a backup.
Those who say that Remington makes the finest guns simply don' t have much (if any) experience with other brands. Of course, some of the finer guns cost considerably more, but even in the Remington price range I think there are better options. I' m just not impressed with anything Remington currently makes and probably won' t buy another unless things change for the better.
