None had the plastic trigger guard...........All had trigger lightened up, but we do that anyway. All were very accurate with just the trigger work done. I' m not a target shooter but i would buy another 700 in a min. The 597, don' t know never even looked at em. I bought a ruger 10/22 about 4yrs ago and to be honest i am not that impressed, they have alot of after market barrels, stocks, triggers, but i dont use my 22 much anyway. I am with the other poster, i say Remington makes the best rifles ( right out of the box). To each is own, some people like Savage,Browning,Winchester,Weatherby,etc. That' s what makes this a great country you can buy whatever ya want! You dont see me telling people to lay off the drugs just because they dont like the same brand i do. You can make any rifle accurate! Just keep buying em all, i hope all manufacturers stay in buisness that way we all have alot of different choices.
