No a field point won' t work. Groundhogs are tough, use a broadhead, and don' t be suprised if they still make it to thier hole. A normal chest shot should work fine, I don' t know if you think you are capable of hitting them in the head, you could go for that.

Also if that doesn' t work, there is some real quiet 22 ammo out there, depending on just how close the houses are.
