ORIGINAL: mauser06

my best friend is a farmer....hes atleast double my age...more of whole nother family for me than friends...

anyways....i been hunting with him and our crew since i was 16...rifle hunting....putting on drives...

started bowhunting 3 years ago....hes been a HUGE help...those hours on the tractor, driving by his fields etc etc means he sees ALOT of game...all i have to do is ask..he will get me on the biggest bucks anytime he can. he knows if i kill one in bow season, he got a good deer dog for the crew all of rifle season....

but anything else, hes a huge help too....groundhogs, turkeys, doves...you name it....dove season is always a hoot to me....guys will line up all over the place....shooting 1 here and there...i ask him where i need to be...if the birds are anywhere, he knows where and im shooting my limit or running outta shells!

im ALOT closer to him than most people are with a farmer and/or landowner...but it works out great. just got home from coonhunting with him actually. his place is really like my 2nd home....his 2 daughters are like my sisters...

just a matter of asking....hes even helped me carry stands in and pick out trees....
Sounds like you have a good spot!
