Default RE: T/C Renagade .50 1/48" Twist

A buddy of mine says switching from subs to Goex eliminated hangfires for him in his percussion sidelock. But I suspect his problems with subs were more a reflection of his cleaning habits (or lack thereof) than with the powder. I've seen him clean it, and it wasn't nearly thorough enough for my taste, especially around the nipple & "snail". I know others with percussions that have no issues with Pyrodex. In fact, one of them shoots an old Renegade.

I'm a prb guy myself, but that's about necessary since I have the 1:66" twist. Those Great Plains look plenty mean enough... can't imagine anything going far after a decent hit with one of 'em.

October Sky... read the book (Rocket Boys)?
