well these past couple of weeks I got to see first hand what the 7-08 will do. Nothing better than the .243. Just dont see it being MUCH better.
yesterday 3 deer fell. 25-06, 7-08 and a .243 were used. the only one that fell in its tracks was the one shot with the .243. all vital hits, What does this prove , probably nothing, but it shows the 7-08 isnt MUCH better. The one hit with the 25-06 actuall showed more damage though.

I say pick the one you want. I been shooting the .243 for many years, but I sold mine a few weeks back. Iwas contemplating getting the 7-08 but after seeing what it does which is nothing better than the .243 I might get another .243 but the 25-06 is not out of the question, the 7-08 is, shells are just to hard to find for it.
