My 300 mag is a heavier rifle and has a mercury recoil suppressor in the stock.
Has a little less recoil recoil and is not as sharp as my 7mag.
I have a scope with more eye relief now also.
I did not say the 300 had less recoil than the 7mag, but it does, I also have a removable muzzle brake on it which I only use for target shooting.
I hope this is sufficient explanation for you how a 300 mag can have less recoil than a 7 mag.
My flinch was all in my head and with that 7mag I could just not get over it.
Switching to the 300 mag in a different rifle with a different set up I was able to retrain myself and get over the flinch.
