Default Do deer avoid areas with heavy hog populations??

Do deer avoid areas with heavy hog populations?? I have recently spent 2 weekends on a south arkansas management area in a spot that had more hog sign and sightings than I've ever seen. This area is supposed to have a high concentration of deer as well, but all I saw was one spike per weekend. This was in the low lands. In the upland area I spent the last afternoon and saw much more deer sign, no hog sign but didnt get to stay long enough to fully scout. I did however see 15 deer in less than 4 miles eating on the side of the road within minutes of close of shooting hours. This was right adjacent to the management area as well. I've spent a lot of time in that low land area, hoping to get a hog as well as deer. Did get a nice boar, but now need some venison. I'm just wondering if the hogs are keeping the deer out of the low land area. Any opinions?
