Glad to be back!


I can post a few pics. maybe the doe with the pistol will get me some mercy for posting firearm taken deer in a bowhunting forum.

I almost let this doe walk but the landowner had told me he wanted some meat. I was hesitant to shoot at first.

Long story short, the landowner posted his land but will still let me hunt. I've given him deer in the past. He likes venison. He told me that he wouldn't mind having a doe. Since I pretty much had the place to myself, I thought I'd return the favor.

I watched the doe for a while from my tree stand. Thought I'd let her get close and take her with the pistol. Never got one with a pistol. It was a similar experience to bowhunting. Ruger Security-Six (4") .357, for those interested. Gift from my father some time ago.


Got the buck the following day late afternoon. Was still chasing does.


It felt wierd hunting this year. No pressure to tag out. And no hunting pressure from other hunters since the property was now posted.


I still have a doe tag but I'm done unless I decide to go out with a flintlock after Christmas.
