On another note, if your local state regulations have a season that determines when a season is open and when it is not. It is ILLEGAL to hunt that certain game animal when the season is closed, no matter what. If you are convicted of a wildlife violation, it is probable that you will lose your hunting privileges. My uncle accidentally poached two immature pintails during the teal duck season. The only difference in the birds was that the basal holes looked different. He just happened to be checked that morning and the GW noticed that something looked a little different on the birds. It was a federal offense. My uncle had no idea that he had done anything wrong. There was no way of telling the birds apart in flight. Even so, he was on probation for 2 months and had to pay $5000 in fines....
