I hunted public state forest property on the first day of rifle season and on the first saturday.I saw a buck on the first day at 30 yardsthat I would have mounted.This past saturday I saw another legal buck in the same area that was traveling with a bunch of does.I killed one of the does.All told,on two of the heaviest hunted days in the season,I saw three hunters in the woods and almost no shooting.I wouldn't mind seeing some more hunters to get the deer moving but there's nothing wrong with the overall hunting season.
