Bullets drop the second they leave the barrel. 165grain 30-06, 100 yd zero will drop to about 2.5" at 200 yards and about a foot at 300 yards. I doesnt make a rats a$$ what model rifle it is.
That statement isn't accurate. Barrels are slightly angled up on rifles so the bullet actually travels at an upward angle before it starts to drop. That's why people can zero a rifle at 36 yards and it will be good for 300 yards depending on wind.
